This intricate coloring page, that you can download for free at the end of this post, was inspired by the captivating world of Moroccan street performers, especially the mysterious figure of the snake charmer — a cultural symbol that has fascinated travelers for generations.
While walking through the lively souks and squares of Morocco, one often hears the soft tones of a flute rising above the crowd. A man in traditional dress sits calmly, playing music as a snake slowly sways in rhythm. This drawing reflects the blend of ancient ritual, artistic expression, and spiritual symbolism found in this practice.
Behind the charmer, the mandala pattern radiates with balance and symmetry, offering a calming space to color and reflect. Inside the snake itself, doodle patterns invite detail work and creativity — making it an ideal page for adults seeking mindful relaxation.

Coloring Tips for the Snake Charmer Mandala
1- Start with the Background Mandala
Begin by coloring the large mandala petals behind the charmer. Use calming, earthy tones like terracotta, warm golds, or deep teal to echo traditional Moroccan tilework. This sets the tone and helps center your mind.
2- Add Warmth to the Snake Charmer
Use warm browns, reds, or muted oranges for the charmer’s robe and hat. You can add slight shading to give his features more depth. Try blending pencil colors for smoother transitions.
3-Bring the Snake to Life
Highlight the snake with vibrant, contrasting colors — think emerald green, sapphire blue, or even deep plum. Use finer pens or colored pencils for the detailed doodles inside the snake to create visual texture.
4- Enhance the Rug Details
Color the rug with bold, patterned contrasts. Use repeated motifs and symmetrical colors (like in Moroccan textiles) — deep reds, indigo blues, and gold accents work beautifully.
5- Use Color Psychology
Want to feel calm? Use blues, greens, and soft lavenders.
Want to energize your mood? Try oranges, reds, and yellows.
Let your color choices reflect your emotional goal for this session.
6- Layer & Blend
Don’t be afraid to layer two similar shades for richer color. Use colored pencils or soft-tip markers and blend gently from dark to light, especially on the robe and mandala petals.
7- Add Highlights and Shadows
Use a white pencil or gel pen to add small highlights on the snake’s scales or the flute, and a darker tone of your base color to shade areas under the hands or snake for a 3D look.
8- Finish with Details
Once the big areas are done, zoom in on the tiny dots and patterns around the charmer — these small moments are where your creativity can really shine!
