What is a Mandala?
If I wanted to give you a simple definition of a Mandala, it will be as follows:
A Mandala is several circles, decorated with geometrical shapes, and organized around the same center.
What is a Mandala grid?
A Mandala grid is the base structure needed in a Mandala drawing, especially for beginners, to help achieve symmetry accurately.
We compose the grid by tracing many circles around the same center. Then we draw grid lines that pass through that same center. The measures of a Mandala grid are not standard and solely depend on the design you have in mind.
As a beginner, you might find it difficult to know how to choose grid measures alone. Therefore, in this blog and on my channel, I have posted many simple mandala designs. Each one has different grid measures so you could see how you can do it yourself.
